Going to work to earn money for food and mortgage,pay massive taxes packed into crowded trains like sheep going to the slaughter house and the rich bankers, senators, generals, celebrities all paid well for toeing the line and hypnotising the sheep.  I am lucky I got out and am relatively free---oh the air is shit, the food polluted, the pensions tight and the TV and so on is rubbish.  So far I have my marbles(slang for senses) and meditation and so on keeps  me in some sort of well being.

COMET LINEAR X1: The sun isn't the only thing exploding. Almost 450 million km from Earth, Comet C/2012 X1 (LINEAR) is having its own outburst. On Oct. 20th, amateur astronomers realized that the comet's brightness had increased 100-fold and its morphology resembled that of exploding Comet 17P/Holmes in 2007. Follow-up images in recent nights seem to show jet-like structures in Comet LINEAR X1's expanding atmosphere. Amateur astronomer Nick James of Chelmsford, UK, obtained these data on Oct. 26th:

Another set of images taken by James shows the comet's atmosphere or "coma" expanding over a period of two days. "The coma's diameter is increasing at a rate of 30 arcseconds per day," says James. "At a distance of 2.95 AU this corresponds to 65,000 km/day or a little less than 1 km/s." He made these observations using an 11-inch Celestron telescope.

Located in the constellation Coma Berenices, Comet LINEAR X1 rises in the east about an hour before the sun. The low altitude of the comet in morning twilight is a challenge, but because the comet is fairly bright, magnitude +8.5, it is still a relatively easy target for backyard telescopes equipped with digital cameras. Mummies unearthed in ancient Peru tomb

An archaeological site in the midst of Peru's bustling capital has yielded yet another pre-Incan discovery, an undisturbed Wari tomb containing two corpses wrapped in ceremonial fabric.

The tomb, estimated to be more than 1,000 years old, was found at the Pucllana archaeological site in Lima, archaeologists said on Thursday. It contained the bodies of an adult and an infant, along with nearly 10 intact artifacts.

The adult was likely a master weaver, said Isabel Flores, an archaeologist at Pucllana. The infant, she added, was probably killed and buried in the tomb as an offering in the adult's honor.

"When we unwrap the bodies, we will be able to determine the adult's age, position in society and gender," said Flores.

The Wari civilization was active in an area that now contains Lima from approximately 600 to 1000 AD, some 500 years before the Inca empire emerged.

Seventy Wari tombs have been unearthed at the Pucllana site, which is nestled in a residential neighborhood in central Lima.

But Flores and Gladys Paz, the head archaeologist of the team that made the discovery, both said that this most recent find is among the site's richest treasures yet.

"This is one of the most important finds in more than three decades of excavation, because both mummies are intact," Paz told AFP news agency.

In many countries insects are used for food.  They can supply proteins and other useful edibles. Survival training can inform one of the survival of oneself by eating certain grubs and so on.

SPACE WEATHER RADIATION BALLOON: According to a recent NASA report, astronauts aren't the only ones who need to worry about solar storms. Ordinary air travelers can also be exposed to significant doses of radiation when the sun is active. On Oct. 27th, the students of Earth to Sky Calculus launched an experiment to investigate the effects of space weather on aviation. Using a suborbital helium balloon, they sent a pair of radiation sensors to the stratosphere. The launch took place from their "edge of space port" in the Sierras of central California:

The payload was equipped to measure alpha and beta particles as well as X-rays and gamma rays at altitudes as high as 120,000 feet. After a two-hour flight, the payload has parachuted back to Earth. A recovery team will gather the sensors and begin analyzing the readings as early as Oct. 28th.

Another balloon flight could be in the offing. Active sunspots AR1875 and AR1877 are approaching the sun's western limb where they will become magnetically connected to Earth. Energetic particles accelerated by flares on that side of the sun are funneled back toward our planet by spiraling magnetic fields. The young scientists say that a radiation storm in the days ahead would prompt another trip to the stratosphere. Leighton Baines’s very touching dedication to young Everton fan

Great to see such a well paid international footballer and a great one at that with heart.  Good on you Bainsey.

It's nice to see the left-back in stories other than those tiresome ones repeatedly linking him with a move to Manchester United.

Leighton Baines gets more popular as a footballer seemingly by the day as he continues to shine forEverton and England.

But it was as a person that the full-back impressed over the weekend as the above Twitter post with attached photo demonstrated.

The picture has been doing the rounds on social media with the message from Baines a touching one considering that it is understood that "little James" lost his life in a tragic accident last week.

"James we know you’ll always be watching the Blues, RIP mate, Bainsey!" the message on the shirt read.

The shirt was donated by the Everton defender with the photo originally posted on Twitter.

It is not the first time that Baines has made headlines for all the right reasons either.

Back in April, he surprised a Toffees fan by delivering a season ticket to a man's door after his wife lost her five-year battle with a brain tumour.

The England man paid a visit to Gordon McKee after he was nominated by his son Andrew as part of the club's Make Their Day initiative.

So good on you, Leighton - you're clearly one of the good guys in football.
