Big Brother is a fictional character in George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. He is the enigmatic dictator ofOceania, a totalitarian state taken to its utmost logical consequence – where the ruling Party wields total power for its own sake over the inhabitants.

In the society that Orwell describes, everyone is under complete surveillance by the authorities, mainly bytelescreens. The people are constantly reminded of this by the phrase "Big Brother is watching you", which is the core "truth" of the propaganda system in this state.

My late friend Sun Bear told me of a practice he and his tribe followed, see Post 8. When a tree was to be cut down, and they only did this occasionally for a very specific purpose, they would go tot the tree and tell it was to be cut down and apologies for doing so, this they did three days before the cut. They actually told a suitable tree next to it, so when they cut down the selected tree it would be quick and not in shock. Sun Bear knew that all trees and plants had a communication network.

PERSEID EARTHGRAZER: Last night a bright meteor skimmed the top of Earth's atmosphere over rural New Mexico, passing almost directly above the private observatory of amateur astronomer Thomas Ashcraft. Wide-field cameras and radio receivers captured the flight of this Perseid earthgrazer:Play the movie again and listen to the soundtrack. Acid Attack Teenagers Arrive Home

Five men are being questioned by police on the Indian Ocean island after the women were attacked by men on a motorbike as they walked along a road on Wednesday night.

Mkadam Khamis, regional police commissioner on Zanzibar, told the Daily Telegraph: "There are five people we have, all men, who we are interrogating over this matter this morning.

"They have not yet been arrested. They are co-operating and answering our questions.

"Later today maybe there will be a development legally."

The young women, from north London, were enjoying the last week of a trip as volunteer teachers to the predominantly Muslim island when a corrosive substance was thrown at them in an apparently unprovoked attack.

They suffered burns to their faces, hands, legs, backs and necks, The Times reported.

They were flown to the Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam for treatment before being released.

Marc Trup, Miss Trup's father, told the newspaper the pair were "inconsolable" and still in pain when he spoke to them on a mobile phone lent to the girls by a passer-by after the attack.

"We couldn't get anything out of them because they had been burned," he said.

"Both girls are very shocked and very frightened."

Speaking about his daughter, he added: "She can still see and she is not dead. Whatever it is we will cope with it."

In a statement outside the Trup home, a family friend said the girls were flying home and their parents were looking forward to being reunited with them.

Speaking on behalf of the girls' mothers, Rochelle Trup and Nicky Gee, he said: "Both families are extremely upset and distressed at this completely unprovoked attack on their lovely daughters, who had only gone to Zanzibar with good intention."

In a statement last night, i-to-i Travel, which organised their visit, said: "We can now confirm that both individuals are scheduled to be repatriated to the UK."

Mr Trup said the girls were dressed appropriately and had been warned not to wear anything which gave away their Jewish background, including the Star of David.

He told the newspaper: "We know it's a Muslim country, they were Western girls. Unfortunately they went out during the month of Ramadan.

"There has been a huge alert in African countries with potential threats. Maybe it's connected, maybe not."

The girls had originally planned to return in time to collect their A-Level results next week, with Miss Trup hoping to study history at the University of Bristol while Miss Gee is considering the University of Leeds, The Times reported.

Their flight home came as news emerged that Miss Gee had been attacked previously on the island.

A friend, Oli Cohen, 21, told the Daily Telegraph: "Katie was attacked two weeks ago by a Muslim woman for singing during Ramadan.

"She was shocked as it just came from out of the blue - but she wasn't scared enough to come home. She stayed out there to finish her trip and volunteering."

Zanzibar is an archipelago of islands in the Indian Ocean about 22 miles (35km) off the mainland.

The semi-autonomous region of Tanzania is predominantly Muslim and has been the scene of some religious violence in recent years.

Earlier this year two Christian leaders were killed and in November a cleric was treated in hospital after an acid attack.

The attack happened in the Stone Town area of Zanzibar's eponymous capital city.

Katie Gee's mother, Nicky Gee, 45, told the Evening Standard: "I am just glad she is home. I want to get inside and see her. We spoke this morning and she said she was okay. It has been a terrible ordeal for the families."

An unnamed family friend, who claimed to have spoken to the girls during a stop-over in Eygpt, told the paper: "They seemed okay. They were pleased to be coming home. They are as well as can be expected. Katie is on pain relief."

A photograph released by the girls' families showed the injuries one of them suffered in the attack.

The girl is shown wearing an open striped shirt and a silver necklace.

What appear to be acid burns are clearly visible on her chin, neck and upper chest.

i-to-i Travel issued a new statement this afternoon, confirming the the women had arrived back in the UK and been taken to a hospital in the capital.

"i-to-i Travel can now confirm that our customers were repatriated to the UK earlier this afternoon to RAF Northolt in west London and have been transferred to a London hospital for further treatment," it said.

"We welcome the proactive investigations being carried out by local authorities in Zanzibar and continue to liaise with them.

"We have been in contact with all of our customers who remain in Zanzibar and provided them all with a copy of our recommended safety measures from their pre-tour safety guide and advised them to remain vigilant during the remainder of their stay.

"We also recommend they refer to the FCO advice.

"Customers due to arrive into Zanzibar this weekend have been given the option to volunteer at an alternative project and all have chosen to continue to travel to Tanzania."

In a statement outside Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Mr Andy Williams, consultant burns and plastic surgeon, said: "We can confirm that Katie and Kirstie have been transferred to our care at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital's burns unit where we're still assessing their injuries.

"Both girls are well and their families are with them. They will be staying at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

"Both families would like to thank everyone that's helped to bring the girls back. The families now wish to have time with the girls and that the media would respect their privacy at this difficult time."

Tonight, Katie Gee thanked supporters for their good wishes.

Writing on Twitter she said: "Thank you for all your support x".

Reuters) - Paralyzed from the waist down, Lefteris Theofilou has spent nearly half his life bound to a wheelchair and recalls as if it were a dream the first time a solar-powered chair enabled him to swim on his own in the Greek sea.

"It was unreal," Theofilou, 52, a burly mechanic with graying hair, said as he lifted himself off his wheelchair one warm summer evening, sat on the chair and with the push of a button rode, unassisted, 20 m (yards) to the shore and into the water.

"It makes you feel free and able to do things you could not imagine you could do on your own," he said.

Founded by a team of Greek scientists in 2008 and covered by European and U.S. patent laws, the Seatrac device operates on a fixed-track mechanism which allows up to 30 wheelchairs to be moved in and out of the water a day - all powered by solar energy.

In a country with one of the world's longest coastlines and thousands of islands, it has come as a welcome relief for many Greeks, boosting demand each year. Currently, 11 devices operate inGreece and there are plans to expand the network.

But despite Seatrac's growing appeal - it has already been exported to Cyprus and the team are in talks with architects in Croatia, France, the United Arab Emirates and Israel - it faces hurdles in Greece, where facilities for the disabled are poor.

In the capital Athens, bumpy pavements and potholed roads make moving around difficult. Wheelchair ramps had to be installed during a July visit by German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, who is paralyzed and uses a wheelchair.

Seatrac's founders have taken advantage of Greece's climate - the country is drenched in sun almost year-round - meaning that the devices can be set up easily on beaches without an electric line to hand and taken down at the end of the season, all without damaging the environment.

The team hope the device could boost tourism, the Mediterranean country's biggest industry, but lament a lack of support by the local authorities which bought the device for 30,000 euros ($40,000) each and are responsible for maintenance after the first year.

Engineer Ignatios Fotiou, one of the inventors, likened the lack of support to "building a penthouse apartment without a building underneath it".

At a busy beach in the coastal town of Alepochori near Athens, vandalism and theft of the solar panel are common. If something breaks, locals say it could take days for the municipality to fix it, sometimes delayed by striking workers.

Often, parents watch as their teenage children use the machine as a diving board.

"These guys have created an incredible thing and we stumble across problems from the state," Theofilou said. "This is Third-World sloppiness."

Minas Georgakis, whose wife Matoula Kastrioti, 46, suffers from multiple sclerosis and is in a wheelchair, said he had to take matters into his own hands because help from the local administration "simply does not exist".

With wooden planks, he built an additional ramp to allow access to the Seatrac as wheelchairs could not be driven over sand. Even so, the path leading to the device is often blocked by parked motorcycles and uncollected garbage.

"I feel bitter," Theofilou said of the lack of support to nods of agreement by Kastrioti who waited for her turn to board.

"We have thousands of beaches, the most beautiful in the world, and to still not be able to swim in them?" he asked as he emerged from the crystal blue waters.

Edgar Cayce, the famous of the 20^th century clairvoyant, once gave a reading about sun spots in which he said:

I have seen lots of my friends and relatives swig down endless cokes crisp and pringles, especially watching a TV drama or soccer match and the like. The few I have had bring me out in a rash and sweat(ladies perspire, men sweat!) and a hot flush the same MSG (Mono sodium glutamate).

Broccoli could prevent—and even slow—osteoarthritis

Eating a handful of broccoli every day could prevent and slow the spread of osteoarthritis, the degenerative disease that destroys joints.
Sulforaphane, a compound in the vegetable, slows the destruction of cartilage in joints by blocking enzymes and interfering with the inflammatory processes that are associated with osteoarthritis. Sulforaphane is also found in Brussels spouts and cabbage.
Researchers from the University of East Anglia reckon that eating 100g (3.5oz)—equivalent to a handful—every day could prevent the disease, and may even slow its progress once it has been diagnosed.
Medicine has no answer to osteoarthritis other than prescribing painkillers that ease the inflammation. Joint replacement surgery is often offered only when the joint has been almost completely destroyed.
After successfully demonstrating the positive effects of broccoli in laboratory trials, researchers are now testing it on 20 volunteers with osteoarthritis, who will eat ‘super-charged’ broccoli—a specially grown variety that is a cross between standard broccoli and wild broccoli found in Sicily—for two weeks. In that time, researchers hope to see the disease slow, although they don’t expect to see joints start to repair in such a short period.

A Chinese herbal medicine could reverse chronic back problems. It improves movement, repairs damage, and reduces inflammation, say researchers.
The medicine, Ji-Sui-Kang (JSK), appears to reverse most of the worst symptoms of chronic back pain within three weeks, working even at the cellular level. It repairs damage to the spinal cord, reduces tissue damage and inflammation, and boosts oxygen supply to the injury area.
The ingredients of JSK include Ginseng, Rhizoma (chuan xiong), Glycyrrhizae Radix (gan cao), Paeoniae Alba Radix (bai shao) and Cinnamomi Cortex (rou gui). It has been formulated by researchers from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, who have tested it on laboratory rats.

Kissinger Quoted Saying: Depopulation Should Be Highest Priority Of US Foreign Policy Towards Third World

Dr. Henry Kissinger, who wrote: “Depopulation should be the highest priority of U.S. foreign policy towards the Third World.”

Research on population control, preventing future births, is now being carried out secretly by biotech companies. Dr. Ignacio Chapela, a University of California microbiologist, discovered that wild corn in remote parts of Mexico is contaminated with lab altered DNA. That discovery made him a threat to the biotech industry.
Chapela was denied tenure at UC Berkeley when he reported this to the scientific community, despite the embarrassing discovery that UC Chancellor Berdahl, who was denying him tenure, was getting large cash payments – $40,000 per year – from the LAM Research Corp. in Plano, Texas.
Berdahl served as president of Texas A&M University before coming to Berkeley. During a presentation about his case, Chapela revealed that a spermicidal corn developed by a U.S. company is now being tested in Mexico. Males who unknowingly eat the corn produce non-viable sperm and are unable to reproduce.
Depopulation, also known as eugenics, is quite another thing and was proposed under the Nazis during World War II. It is the deliberate killing off of large segments of living populations and was proposed for Third World countries under President Carter’s administration by the National Security Council’s Ad Hoc Group on Population Policy.

National Security Memo 200, dated April 24, 1974, and titled “Implications of world wide population growth for U.S. security & overseas interests,” says:
“Dr. Henry Kissinger proposed in his memorandum to the NSC that “depopulation should be the highest priority of U.S. foreign policy towards the Third World.” He quoted reasons of national security, and because `(t)he U.S. economy will require large and increasing amounts of minerals from abroad, especially from less-developed countries … Wherever a lessening of population can increase the prospects for such stability, population policy becomes relevant to resources, supplies and to the economic interests of U.S.
Depopulation policy became the top priority under the NSC agenda, Club of Rome and U.S. policymakers like Gen. Alexander Haig, Cyrus Vance, Ed Muskie and Kissinger. According to an NSC spokesman at the time, the United States shared the view of former World Bank President Robert McNamara that the “population crisis” is a greater threat to U.S. national security interests than nuclear annihilation.In 1975, Henry Kissinger established a policy-planning group in the U.S. State Department’s Office of Population Affairs. The depopulation “GLOBAL 2000″ document for President Jimmy Carter was prepared.
It is no surprise that this policy was established under President Carter with help from Kissinger and Brzezinski – all with ties to David Rockefeller. The Bush family, the Harriman family – the Wall Street business partners of Bush in financing Hitler – and the Rockefeller family are the elite of the American eugenics movement. Even Prince Philip of Britain, a member of the Bilderberg Group, is in favor of depopulation:

“If I were reincarnated I would wish to be returned to earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels” (Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh, leader of the World Wildlife Fund, quoted in “Are You Ready for Our New Age Future?” Insiders Report, American Policy Center, December 1995).
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has been proposing, funding and building Bio-Weapons Level 3 and Level 4 labs at many places around the U.S. even on university campuses and in densely populated urban locations. In a Bio-Weapons Level 4 facility, a single bacteria or virus is lethal. Bio-Weapons Level 4 is the highest level legally allowed in the continental U.S.
For what purpose are these labs being developed, and who will make the decisions on where bio-weapons created in these facilities will be used and on whom? More than 20 world-class microbiologists have been murdered since 2002, mostly in the U.S. and the UK. Nearly all were working on development of ethnic-specific bio-weapons (see Smart Dust, Roboflies &).
Citizens around the U.S. are frantically filing lawsuits to stop these labs on campuses and in communities where they live. Despite the opposition of residents living near UC Davis, where a Bio-Weapons Level 4 lab was planned, it had the support of the towns mayor.
She suddenly reversed her position after a monkey escaped from a high security primate facility on the campus where the bio-weapons lab was proposed. Residents claimed that if UC Davis could not keep monkeys from escaping from their cages, they certainly could not guarantee that a single virus or bacteria would not escape from a test tube. The AWOL monkey killed the project (see Smart Dust, Roboflies&).
Population is a political problem. The extreme secrecy surrounding the takeover of nuclear weapons, NASA and the space program and the development of numerous bio-weapons labs is a threat to civil society, especially in the hands of the military and corporations.
The fascist application of all three of these programs can be used to achieve established U.S. government depopulation policy goals, which may eliminate 2 billion of the worlds existing population through war, famine, disease and any other methods necessary.
Two excellent examples of existing U.S. depopulation policy are, first, the long-term impact on the civilian population from Agent Orange in Vietnam, where the Rockefellers built oil refineries and aluminum plants during the Vietnam War. The second is the permanent contamination of the Middle East and Central Asia with depleted uranium, which, unfortunately, will destroy the genetic future of the populations living in those regions and will also have a global effect already reflected in increases in infant mortality reported in the U.S., Europe, and the UK.
